Understanding Feed Refresh Rates and Sync Timing

How often should you update your feed? The answer depends on your inventory velocity, pricing changes, and platform requirements.

Why Refresh Frequency Matters

  • Stale prices — Mismatches cause disapprovals and bad UX
  • Inventory accuracy — Selling out-of-stock items hurts trust
  • New products — Faster listing means faster sales
  • Competitive pricing — React to market changes quickly

Recommended Refresh Rates

Scenario Recommended
Fast-moving inventoryEvery 1-4 hours
Daily price changesEvery 4-6 hours
Stable catalogOnce daily
Flash salesReal-time or hourly

Platform Fetch Schedules

Platforms dont fetch continuously. Know their schedules:

  • Google — Fetches 1-2x daily by default, more with frequent updates
  • Facebook — Hourly fetches available, daily default
  • TikTok — Fetches every 24 hours minimum

Pro Tip

Set your feed generation to complete 1 hour before the platforms scheduled fetch time. This ensures fresh data is always available.
