Why Google Free Listings Show Fewer Products Than Your Feed

TL;DR

A successful feed fetch does not guarantee that every row can appear in Google free listings. Eligibility depends on destination settings, product data, policy, landing-page consistency, market, and program conditions.

In this insight:

  • Processed products are not the same as eligible products.
  • Check destination and market before rewriting the feed.
  • Price, availability, identifiers, images, and pages affect eligibility.
  • Trace a sample from source to visibility.

“The feed uploaded successfully” and “the product appears in free listings” are different statements. Google can retrieve and process a source while excluding products from a destination because of eligibility, product data, policy, or landing-page conditions.

Use four counts, not one

  1. Source rows: products generated by your store or feed.
  2. Processed items: products Google read and interpreted.
  3. Eligible items: products that can serve for the selected destination and market.
  4. Visible items: products currently found in the expected surface.

Check the destination before the product

Confirm that free listings are enabled and that the products are assigned to the intended destination and market. A product valid for one program is not automatically valid for every program.

Audit eligibility fields

Check stable IDs, title, description, link, image link, price, availability, brand, GTIN or identifier status, categories, and variant relationships. Verify that the values are accurate, not merely present.

Trace one missing product end to end

Pick five products that are in the source but missing from free listings. Record the product ID, market, processing state, issue text, feed values, landing page, and structured data. Look for a shared cause before changing the whole catalog.

Frequently asked questions

Why are some products missing from Google free listings?

Products may be excluded because of destination settings, market eligibility, missing or incorrect attributes, policy issues, or a mismatch between the feed and landing page.

Does a successful feed fetch mean products are eligible?

No. A successful fetch only confirms that Google retrieved the source; processing and eligibility are separate steps.
