A product feed does not exist in isolation. Google compares submitted product data with the page a shopper reaches, and important values may also be present in structured data and checkout.
The four-copy audit
| Field | Feed | Landing page | Structured data / checkout |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price and currency | Submitted value | Visible price | Offer price and checkout total |
| Availability | Submitted state | Visible stock state | Schema.org availability |
| Variant | ID and attributes | Selected variant | Variant URL and offer |
| Title and image | Submitted values | Visible content | Product structured data |
Why variant pages cause hidden failures
Many stores test the default product URL while the feed points to a specific variant. Open the exact URL from the feed and verify the price, stock, image, and structured data for that variant.
Use a controlled correction loop
- Capture the feed value.
- Open the exact landing page.
- Compare page and structured data.
- Check checkout for price and availability.
- Fix the source or theme owner, then verify again.
